HOW TO JOIN AND CONTACT FORM

If you would like to become a member of the Orchestra, you will be invited to attend rehearsals for a trial period. Players must give evidence of musical ability and are expected to attend regularly at rehearsals and concerts. Wind/brass players are expected to be of a standard Grade 8+ and string players Grade 6+.
Although we are always glad to hear from any prospective new member, we currently have vacancies for :

Strings - violins, violas
Brass - 2nd trumpet, bass trombone, tuba
Percussion

Rehearsals are held weekly in the Community Hall at Samuel Cody Sports College in Farnborough on Tuesdays from 8 until 10 pm, with a short social break. We rehearse for 39 weeks of the year with breaks at Christmas, Easter, during the Summer holiday period and some half term holidays.

The Orchestra is currently entirely self-supporting. Members pay a termly subscription of £65 which may be gift-aided. Second and subsequent members of a family are eligible for a 50% discount and we do not ask for a subscription from students.

We often have social events at Christmas and in the summer. In the past we have had concert trips to Rushmoor’s twin towns, Oberursel in Germany and Meudon in France, although none are currently planned.
